Principal's Message

April 1, 2026

Dear Families,

As we move further into the spring season, we are so proud of the progress our students have made both academically and socially. Classrooms are full of energy as students continue building important skills and preparing to finish the year strong.

This month often brings important assessments. While testing is one way we measure progress, we know our students are more than a score. We encourage all children to do their best, take their time, and show what they’ve learned. You can help at home by ensuring your child gets a good night’s sleep, eats a healthy breakfast, and arrives at school on time each day.

April is also a wonderful time to enjoy learning beyond the classroom. As the weather improves, students may have more opportunities for outdoor activities, projects, and events. Be sure to check communication from your child’s teacher and our school for upcoming field trips, celebrations, and important dates.

We also want to thank you for your continued partnership. Your support makes a tremendous difference in your child’s success. Whether it’s reading together at home, encouraging positive habits, or staying connected with teachers, we appreciate all you do.

Let’s make April a month full of growth, positivity, and perseverance!

With appreciation,

Leslie Shultz

Principal

The image is a flyer for "Playground Updates" that includes a projected plan for the playground, showing various play equipment and structures, as well as an estimated cost of $96,000 for the event.

The JRES PTO is absolutely crucial to all the little things that make JRES such a neat place to learn each day!  They have sent us on school-wide field trips at no cost to the families, organize the Holiday Shop, provide all the new equipment for the STEM lab, manage t-shirt sales, celebrate the staff, and many other contributions!

Their current goal is an ambitious goal, but it is one we can surely attain and it will generate so much joy for ALL students!  Please take a moment to look at the proposed playground additions (image at left) that are inclusive AND engaging!
